1. Sign-Up
Activation begins with creating an account at /auth/register. You will be asked for:
- Your business name & display name;
- A valid business email address (we will send a 6-digit verification OTP);
- A strong password (minimum 8 characters, mixed case, number, symbol);
- Acceptance of our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
2. Email Verification
After signup, we send a 6-digit OTP to your email. You must verify the email to activate the account. Unverified accounts expire after 72 hours and are purged.
3. Plan Selection
New accounts default to the Free plan. You can upgrade at any time from the Pricing page or from Billing in your dashboard. Plan activation is immediate upon successful payment (see our Delivery Policy).
4. WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) Connection
To start sending messages, you must connect a WhatsApp Business phone number via Meta Embedded Signup. Prerequisites:
- A verified Facebook Business Manager account;
- A phone number that is not currently registered with the consumer WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app;
- Ability to receive an OTP on that number for phone verification;
- Business documents if you plan to apply for Green Tick (official business) verification.
The Embedded Signup flow is launched from Setup → Connect WhatsApp. The process includes WABA creation, phone-number selection, OTP verification, and token exchange. Most vendors complete the process in 5–10 minutes.
5. Phone Number Verification
Meta sends a 6-digit verification code via SMS or voice call to the phone number you are registering. Enter this code in the Setup wizard to complete registration. The number must not be actively in use on the consumer WhatsApp app — delete it from the app first or use a fresh number.
6. Business Verification (Optional)
To raise messaging limits and apply for the Green Tick, Meta requires Business Verification in Facebook Business Manager. This involves submitting legal business documents (Certificate of Incorporation, GST certificate, etc.). Meta typically processes verification within 1–3 business days.
7. Message Template Creation
Before sending marketing or utility messages, you must create message templates and submit them for Meta’s approval from within the dashboard. Template reviews are typically completed within 24 hours. Approved templates become immediately usable.
8. Webhook Configuration
WAAPI automatically configures the WhatsApp Cloud API webhook to point to our ingestion endpoint during Embedded Signup. No manual webhook setup is required. You can, however, configure your own outbound webhooks (for messages, status updates, campaign events) from API Settings.
9. Activation Checklist
Your account is considered fully activated when:
- ✓ Email is verified;
- ✓ A paid plan is active (optional — Free plan works for trials);
- ✓ At least one WhatsApp Business number is connected;
- ✓ At least one approved message template exists (for campaigns);
- ✓ Payment method is valid (for paid plans);
- ✓ Your business profile is configured in the dashboard.
10. Deactivation & Reactivation
Your account may be deactivated due to non-payment, policy violations, or at your request. Deactivated accounts retain data for 60 days in a read-only state. To reactivate:
- Log in and clear any outstanding payment;
- Re-verify your email if requested;
- Re-authenticate your WABA connection if the Meta token has expired.
After 60 days of deactivation, the account may be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Compliance Holds
Accounts that repeatedly violate the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy or the WAAPI Terms & Conditions may be placed on a compliance hold. While on hold, sending is paused and the account may be required to submit additional documentation or attest to corrective actions before reactivation.
